Garnet Sand is a mineral produced from naturally occurring almandine garnet. It is manufactured by processing garnet-bearing sand and grading it to precise specifications. Due to its low free silica content, Garnet is widely used for blasting and is highly popular for waterjet cutting. Garnet is cost-effective, environmentally and operator friendly, and is an excellent alternative to silica sand and mineral slags while providing a Class Sa 3 White Metal finish. Garnet particles are dense, hard, sharp, and free of heavy metals or toxic components. The low friability of Garnet allows recycling up to 5–8 times, and its relatively high density ensures fast blasting speeds.
